INSOMNIA is an all-night event for junior high school (7th-8th grade) students. The goal for INSOMNIA is to create a safe, wholesome, and fun event that will strengthen friendships.
We’ll be going to Harkins Theatres for a movie; Jake’s Unlimited for games, rides and adventure; and Xtreme Air to enjoy indoor trampoline fun.
INSOMNIA 2018 FAQs
WHAT WILL MY STUDENT DO ALL NIGHT?
Students and leaders will be transported by bus to three different destinations throughout the night. Students will watch a movie at Harkins Theatres, go to Jake’s Unlimited (bowling, laser tag, food), and go to Xtreme Air (dodge ball, obstacle course, trampolines).
WHAT ARE THE MOVIE CHOICES?
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwaldand The Grinch. Parents need to sign a consent form to approve the movie Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. Bring money to buy food and drinks at concession stands.
WHAT DOES REGISTRATION COVER?
Registration covers the cost of transportation and the price of admission to all destinations. It also covers food and drinks at Jake’s Unlimited. Food and drinks at the movie theater will not be covered.
WHAT SHOULD MY STUDENT BRING?
Because INSOMNIA is only a one-night event, less is more when it comes to packing. When packing, keep in mind that no belongings can be left on the bus while visiting venues. Students may bring their cell phones but we are not liable for lost/broken phones, or any other items that students bring to the event. Have your student bring money for concession stand at the movies.
WHAT ABOUT FOOD?
Pizza, soda, and ice cream will be provided at Jake’s Unlimited.
CAN I BRING MY STUDENT’S FRIENDS AND DROP OFF OR PICK THEM UP?
Yes! However, parents will need to register their own student and sign the Xtreme Air waiver. Bring the hard copy Xtreme Air waiver to check-in.
CAN I COMPLETE THE ONLINE REGISTRATION AT XTREME AIR?
No! Xtreme Air will not be able to process registrations for this event. They are asking all parents to complete the hard copy (attached below). Xtreme Air will be collecting the waivers from each student as they enter the park.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY STUDENT IS INJURED AT THIS EVENT?
In case of injury, our junior high school pastor (Justin Storey) will contact the student’s parent/guardian and seek medical attention as well, if needed.
CAN MY STUDENT COME FOR JUST A PORTION OF THE NIGHT?
No! If your student registers for this event, please understand that it is an all-night event. For the safety of our students, parents are not allowed to pick up their child in the middle of the night. However, if your child becomes ill at some point during the night, we will contact you.
WHEN INSOMNIA IS OVER, WHERE AND WHEN DO I PICK UP MY STUDENT?
This event ends on Saturday, November 17 at 7:45 a.m. The bus will drop students off at The Bridge. Please arrive on time to help this process run smoothly.
WHO DO I CONTACT IF I STILL HAVE QUESTIONS?
Please contact Anna Martin via email or call the church office at (480) 963-3997.
