Church at Home

Dear Compass Family,

Happy Easter! This will be an Easter like no other. But I’m thankful that for the things that will never change—like Jesus’ sacrifice for us on the cross, the new life we have in Him, the hope for a broken world, and so much more. There a few things I want to update you on as we move into this special weekend.

We have an incredible Easter service planned for you. It’s one that you’ll want to share with family and friends—even if that means sharing it digitally. There will be amazing worship, a special story for kids, a message of hope and victory, and more. Don’t miss it!

You can play an integral role in helping us spread the word about Easter at Compass. You’ll find some great graphics you can download and use at Feel free to use those on Facebook and Instagram, and you can even text and email them to friends and family. I assure you it’s a service worth sharing!

Our elders and leadership are encouraging our whole church to set aside this Friday—Good Friday—as a day of prayer and fasting. Plan to spend time with Jesus and remember what this season is all about. Let’s also pray about what’s going on in our world.

Thank you for being faithful in your giving through this unprecedented season. It’s making a big difference, especially for our Give Help, Get Help initiative. We’ve shared some of the great stories to come out of that, and we can’t wait to share more. We have moved to an “essentials only” budget, meaning we are only spending money on things that are absolutely necessary. Our priority is to be a “people first” church and continue to help those in need.

Construction on the new worship center and parking lots has been progressing nicely. The west parking lot as well as one by the Bridge should be finished next week. And the concrete slab for the worship center and café will be poured soon. But once those things are completed, we will pause construction. We feel like it’s best to put a hold on construction-related expenses until we are out of the current season we’re all experiencing.

These are unprecedented times that call for resolve and a focus on what we know to be true—that we have a wise and loving Heavenly Father that cares for us in good times and bad. Now is the time for the church to rise up and show the world that faith isn’t about building and traditions. It’s about a Savior, Jesus, who laid down his life so we can spend an eternity in Heaven.

In Christ’s Love,

Pastor Brian
