DAY 017 // 20230117 // JOURNEY THROUGH THE BIBLE

The first part of Exodus recounts how Abraham’s family ends up enslaved in Egypt. God raises up a deliverer to confront the evil of Pharaoh and to liberate the Israelites. From Egypt, they set out into the wilderness on the way to Mt. Sinai.

Bible Summary

Today, we start our journey through the book of Exodus with chapters 1-3 and the introduction of the reluctant leader Moses. Here we see God’s faithfulness to his people, and a prime example of His leadership in our lives when we don’t feel as if we are enough.

Knowing more about the story of Moses, I think it is interesting to put his murder of the Egyptian in the context of Moses having an issue with his temper and level of passion. I also think it is interesting that he ran away instead of lying about it which shows a level of awareness and shame at his actions.

Remember when Pharoe told Joseph that his whole family could come to Egypt and be spared from the 7 year famine? Am I correct in thinking that they all stayed there in Egypt in that section of town and multiplied,, they were the Israelis and Moses was eventually born,,, so the Israelite clan was in Egypt and now their Slaves, and Pharaoh hates them and wants to kill all the baby boys . Is that right?
