In chapter 25, I found myself becoming uncomfortable with the way that God talked about the Israelites. He talked about how “the land is mine”, “the Israelites are my servants”, and “They are my servants” in verse 55. Then, I had to think about… why?
It must be that I don’t like the idea of someone being “over me” or “owning me”. That gave me a heart check to the reality that I should be grateful that the God of the universe is my master and I serve Him. He is a fair, just, and unconditionally loving God! I need to be more aware of the areas in my life I am trying to own and not give to Him.
