When we’re little, we’re reminded regularly to use our “inside voices” when we’re inside. There’s something about being in close proximity with other kids that amplifies and intensifies the sound far faster and far more powerfully than what our adult ears would want. Adults experience this too. You’ve seen the anticipation build as you’re in the hospital waiting room with family. You’re playing cards just to keep yourself occupied as you anxiously await to hear the words “The baby boy is born and he and mom are healthy!” You’ve seen the energy and excitement rise in the middle of a concert as the emcee on stage works the crowd. The volume of the crowd grows as everyone gets excited for the band to come on stage. There’s something contagious about being with other people. You feed off of each other, making emotions higher, the experience richer, the memories more full.
Jesus said there is power in prayer, even to the point mountains can be moved through prayer (Mark 11:22-25). What happens when that power gets amplified through community?
Could wisdom in leadership and parenting be found, friendship instead of loneliness, life become fulfilling, hope be found, addictions be broken, marriages be saved and those who are lost find Christ? Every one of these and so many more have been experienced by those who have found their community at Compass. This is what God does when we celebrate the wins God brought in our life with those we do life with. This is what happens when we’re honest with those in our group about our struggles so they can pray for us too. This is what happens when we rally together in prayer. God leverages the power of our prayers when it gets amplified in community.
So, if you aren’t in community, find one by clicking here: www.compassaz.church/groups. If you’re in a group, share what you’re praising God for and asking for His assistance with so you can see your prayers amplified. At the same time, make sure to take other’s praises and prayer requests and leverage the power in your own prayers.

Amen! Thank you Pastor Kyle. I praise God for community in Christ. I love life group, our love and bond, and safety with each other. Lifting each other up, and taking care of each other.
We’re all willing to put our hands to the plough and work together in our circle, in our Church, in our community. Unity in Christ is beautiful!
