After God appoints Moses to confront Pharaoh and lead the Israelites out of slavery, they come to Mount Sinai, where God invites them to become “a kingdom of priests.” But things do not go as planned for the Israelites. In this video, we explore the beginning of the failed priesthood and the need for the ultimate royal priest, who will intercede on behalf of his people and offer his life for the failures of others.

It’s easy for me to look at Moses and think he’s a moron for questioning God’s calling and instruction at the burning bush, but how often do I question God’s calling because I am afraid or don’t feel qualified? Probably way too often.
I think that the contrast between David’s Psalm and Moses’ conversation with God is so interesting. David didn’t cower when God called him to be king. David was patient for God’s timing as well. Moses argued and continued to make excuses for why he wasn’t the guy. In the Psalm, David focuses on God, who God is and his power. Moses only focused on his own abilities, or lack thereof. We need to keep our focus on God when he calls us to something, especially if that something is uncomfortable, recognizing that in God’s power we are able to do whatever he asks of us.
Psalms 18 today moved me in so many ways. No matter what season you are going through, this will encourage each one of us. I listened to it a couple of times and each time it spoke to my heart and my spirit. God’s word is truly “Living and Active”
