Biblical authors often reference and quote their favorite parts of Scripture, and the list of God’s character traits found in Exodus 34:6-7 is the most repeated and re-quoted text in the Bible. In this video we’ll explore this foundational description of God’s attributes that illustrates what God values and why he acts the way he does.

I know that there isn’t a way to know the intent of God, but I wonder if God was testing Moses by saying he was done with the Israelites and their constant turning away from Him. Of course God knew that the people were currently in the act of making a god to replace Him, but Moses didn’t. I wonder if God knew that Moses had to intercede on behalf of the people and be reminded of his own belief in them because of what he was going to find out about them right after?
I think it’s partly a way of showing what God will do for us in the future with his death and resurrection. He interceded for us just as Moses did for the Israelites.
That’s a good thought too!
