Prayer is purposeful communication with God. God invites people to pray and communicate with Him throughout the day. We should pray when things are going great and when life is lousy. In fact, the Bible encourages us to “pray continually” (1 Thes. 5:17). Prayer can happen anywhere and at anytime as God is always available to listen.
Sometimes we may want to pray, but not know where to start. The good news is that God understands what we’re trying to say—even if we don’t quite know how to say it (Romans 8:26-27). God cares about what’s going on in your life: the good, the bad and even the ugly. In fact, he wants to help you with whatever’s going on in your life—all you have to do is ask. The Bible says we can approach God with confidence, knowing that He is ready and willing to help us whenever we’re in need (Hebrews 4:16).
